IUI (Intrauterine Insemination)

Intrauterine Insemination technique in cases where there is either no sperm present or a low sperm count and motility. In such situations, if sperm are required, they are obtained from a sperm donor. The sperm is then subjected to a process called washing, capacitation, and processing in the andrology lab.

During this process, the sperm is separated from the semen fluid and prepared to enhance its quality and increase the chances of successful fertilization. Once the sperm is prepared, it is directly injected into the woman's uterus during her ovulation period. The timing is crucial to ensure that the sperm is placed close to the egg for fertilization.

The success rate of IUI varies, but for a single attempt, it ranges from 10% to 30%. It is important to note that the success rate can depend on various factors, including the underlying cause of infertility, the woman's age, and the overall health of both partners. Consequently, it may be recommended to repeat the IUI procedure two to three times to improve the chances of conception.
